As a bookworm, you likely know the struggle that comes with saving your place in a paperback or hardcover book. A booklace may be a solid solution for you and other readers you know!

A Bookmark is Whatever is in Arm’s Reach
When we use random objects as bookmarks (grocery receipts, paperclips, straws, keys, etc.), we risk smudging the ink and tearing the pages of our beautiful books. If you’re buying print books on a regular basis, chances are that you’d like to hold on to them for a while. For sentimental value and / or to re-read at a later date. So keeping physical books in the best shape you can is critical.

Old School Bookmarks
When we use paper bookmarks that may or may not be laminated, we eliminate the destruction factor, but then we may run into the issue of the marker not staying in place. It can fall out when in our tote bag. It can get pulled out by our tassel-obsessed pets. There’s nothing actually securing the marker to the book itself.
Clips and Clamps as Bookmarks
But what about clips! They’re a great solution. Right? Well, maybe. The issue being that they can also cause wrinkles, tears, and crimps on pages. And, they can also attract the attention of animals and get gnawed on or pulled away to their demise.

Booklaces (like “necklaces”)
These adjustable bookmarks come in fun, gorgeous colors and designs, use small, polished hardware that is durable and long-lasting without harming our books, and can be securely fastened to a book so that they don’t fall out or get pulled out.
By looping the ribbon around the back cover of the book (just like putting a belt around your waist), you secure it to the piece. Then you use the remaining ribbon as your marker. It can be adjusted for a wide range of common trim sizes. So, no matter if you’re reading a small, thick book or a large, thin book (or a large, thick book, for that matter!), the booklace will stay in place and look good doing it!
And, because they’re a bit fancier than old school bookmarks, booklaces actually make awesome gifts for the person who seems to have everything! Get one for students who are headed off to college. Add one to a book-lover’s gift basket. And, of course, grab one for yourself because your books deserve love, too! 😀
