Neighborhood Watch is a great read for fans of Shari Lapena who are open to a bit more comedy and a slower pace.
There is a sprinkling of humor throughout the piece, which is always fun alongside a murder mystery. I correctly guessed who the killer was at about the 40% mark, with the rest of the book spent looking for confirmation. If you want a funnier bent and more relaxed pace for your murder mysteries (a lot of time spent on the psychological workings of the residents and their relationships and histories with one another), you’ll like getting to know the upper-class residents of Oleander Court. But you’ll enjoy their death scenes even more!
