The Writerwerx University Poetry Contest is in its fourth year and is open for submissions as of today.
Head to the Contests page to enter before the deadline.
Quick facts about this contest:
- You can submit poems that have been published elsewhere, if you like. Just make sure whoever published them first is okay with that (since we would be sharing them with our audience online).
- Poems must be 100 words long or shorter.
- There are no restrictions regarding topic. You could write a poem about dying, sex, school, murder, cooking, or watching paint dry. Just make it a solid read!
- There is no limit on how many poems you may submit.
- If you do decide to submit three poems or more, you could potentially win 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd place. You’d be the first person in the contest’s history to do so!
- Poems do not have to ever have seen the light of day. This contest is open to published / seasoned and unpublished / newbie poets alike.
- The contest opens on May 1st and the deadline is May 31st.
- If you want to ensure you don’t miss any emailed updates about the contest, be sure to register on this site, follow us on social media, or subscribe to our newsletter.
