We’re now entering the last three days during which you can submit an entry to the 2022 Writerwerx University Short Story Contest. If you haven’t already, take 10 minutes to go submit your entry before the deadline on August 31st. Procrastination is a serious condition. Don’t wait a second longer than you have to! 😀
The Google Versus Reedsy Battle
They have been duking it out valiantly during this contest. But it looks like the closing tallies for Google and Reedsy are fast approaching. Google will likely keep its number one spot as the contest’s top referrer of potential entrants (though Reedsy is less than 100 visitors behind, so don’t count them out just yet!). Reedsy will likely maintain its reign as the top referrer of writers who actually enter the contest. Google got us a lot of eyeballs and “finger traffic,” (does that sound naughty, or is it just me?), but results count most at the end of the day. Even though they referred slightly fewer people, Reedsy provided higher quality traffic than Google.
The Regions Involved
This year’s contest has been the most diverse yet. With more states and countries than ever participating in the competition. From North America, to Europe, to Asia, the struggle for a winning result is going strong on a global level. Entrants live in places such as:
- British Columbia
- California
- Colorado
- Georgia
- London
- Massachusetts
- Nakornpathom
- New Jersey
- New Mexico
- Ontario
- South Carolina
- South Yorkshire
- Texas
- West Virginia
Getting Ready for the 2023 Novel Opening Contest
It may seem early, but it’s already time to start thinking about next year’s novel opening contest. If you or someone you know has a book on the market for sale with an ISBN, make sure you tell them about the contest and have them sign up for the Writerwerx University newsletter so they can get reminders about contests.
Entering the Short Story Contest in 2022
Now is the time to enter. You’ve been waiting all month. It’s time to stop hesitating and throw your hat in the ring. After all, you can’t win if you don’t “play!”
