Posted on November 30, 2021November 30, 2021 by Tenesha L. Curtis, M.S.S.W.

If you’re writing in the fantasy genre, this is a setup breakdown that’s right up your alley.

The The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms setup breakdown is now available. Click here to view it.

Check out the breakdown and then go read the book, or read the book and then take a look at the breakdown.

What are Setup Breakdowns?

Setup breakdowns are meant to help you understand the various ways in which a book’s concept can be succinctly expressed (as with blurbs, loglines, etc.). By studying the setup of pieces that are already on the market, you hone your own skills for creating captivating pitches, premises, loglines, and similar instruments. This is a key skill for pitching literary agents, contacting acquisitions editors, or trying to directly influence shoppers to purchase the book.
