It’s that time of the year again, writers!

The fifth annual Writerwerx University short story contest will be open for submissions starting August 1st, 2023 (that’s this Tuesday!).
If you want to participate, here are the steps:
- Go to WinItWrite.com and review the contest terms and conditions. If you still have questions, you’re welcome to reach out via social media or WriterwerxUniversity.com/contact.
- Once you’re comfortable with how everything is going to work, you can prepare your submission(s). All you’ll need to do for this is clear the submission of any identifying information (such as your name or email address) or extraneous objects (photographs, illustrations, links, etc.) so that only the title of the story and the text of the story remain and save it as a PDF.
- When the contest opens, head to WinItWrite.com to complete the entry form and submit your work.
- Wait for authors around the world to enter the ring with you and see who will come out on top!
- There are no topic or theme restrictions, just make sure it’ll knock the judges off their feet!
- Each story entered should be no more than 2,000 words long. Flash fiction is welcome!
- Cash prizes will be distributed via PayPal, so make sure that you enter with that address.
- The fast track to disqualification includes:
- Submitting a story that is more than 2,000 words long.
- Submitting a story that includes more than just the title and story (pictures, links, illustrations, bios, etc.).
- Submitting a story that is not in PDF format (.docx, .rtf, .png, etc.).
- The contest opens on August 1st.
- The contest closes on August 31st.
- The winners of the contest will be announced first to Apprentices, then Pantextuals, then blog subscribers and social media followers.
Check out our Winners page to see where you might end up in a few months. And, of course, share this opportunity with every talented writer that you know!
