Who Can Become a Self-Published Author?

Anyone who has the desire to maintain full creative control over their work and is willing to

put in the time, money, and elbow grease to get their own book on the market. This is different from commercial publishing which is when an author attempts to convince an agent to represent them and that agent then helps them groom the manuscript into a piece they believe they can sell to a trade publisher. This process often (not always!) takes multiple years. After a contract is signed, it’s usually another one to three years before the book actually hits the market for sale.

Many people like the freedom and speed of independent publishing, but it’s helpful to remember that being in full control means you have a lot to learn and a lot of executive decisions to make.

Learn more about it by grabbing a copy of Jess’ book now at FeaturedReads.com!
